I am located at Elk Creek and am an Agricultural Management Specialist for the USDA stationed in Beatrice. The bulk of my job requires me to explore financial options for farming operations that are in financial trouble. I just finished a plan to reorganize a dairy operation which had outstanding credit card debt of $101,000 -- all operating expenses compiled over the past three years. These guys are working their tails off in the country.......and are just not getting the production and prices needed to operate in a financially viable manner.
